We make roman blinds to order in any fabric. All we need to know is the size required and whether it is to be mounted within the window recess or on the wall. Alternatively we are happy to visit you in your home to give advice and measure for you. If you would like a quote please just email us cwhite@craftedcurtains.co.uk
If measuring for blinds yourself please ensure that you allow for any possible obstructions, and think about how the window opens. If your windows are tilt and turn it is usually best to mount the blind on the wall rather than in the window recess. If a blind is to be recess fitted, we also need to check sizes in more than one location to make sure that the window is square
Hand-sewn
We just love making roman blinds and all our blinds are carefully hand-sewn and interlined to give a high quality finish. Our blinds are made to the highest specification with invisible stitching both on the heading and along the rod pockets. It is this attention to detail that makes them so special. The back of our blinds are also hand-sewn, with rod pockets formed in the lining.
Child Safety Regulations
We order all our blind cassettes made to measure with everything certified as safe from Evans Textiles. The cassettes come with a handy pull away cog, eliminating the need for an ugly cleat to be fixed to your wall. They also come with breakaways on the bottom two rod pockets.
Blackout and light bleed
Our blinds are made with 3 layers, face fabric, bonded blackout and lining. The bonded blackout (or non blackout if required) is taken right to the edge of the blind and gives it structure as well as good blackout. The best position for a roman blind to maximise blackout is within the recess. It is impossible to eliminate all light bleed as you need to leave a 0.5cm gap to allow the blind to function properly. With face fixed blinds you do still get some light bleed at the sides and if you are light sensitive we can make the blind a bit wider to reduce this.
